QUT Seeks Security And Emergency Management Services Across Campus Network.

QUT Seeks Security And Emergency Management Services – Queensland University of Technology is seeking proposals for the provision of security and emergency management services across its campus network, with submissions closing May 28.

This tender seeks a large-scale, 24/7 guarding operation supporting QUT’s primary campuses at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove, along with additional sites requiring scheduled and ad hoc mobile patrols. The contract term is 6 years from 1 January 2026, with an option for a further 3-year extension.

QUT has set high entry thresholds for bidders, requiring demonstrated experience delivering a minimum 60-officer, 24/7 security operation within Queensland for at least three consecutive years in the past five years. Respondents must also provide referees from clients with comparable operational scale and confirm delivery of all guarding services in-house, with no subcontracting permitted.

The scope reflects the complexity of securing a major university environment, where security operations must support open access, high pedestrian volumes, extended operating hours and a mix of academic, residential and public-facing facilities. Services are expected to integrate routine guarding with incident response and emergency management capability, ensuring campuses operate safely and with minimal disruption.

Tender requirements also place strong emphasis on workforce and operational systems. Suppliers must demonstrate robust rostering and scheduling platforms capable of managing multi-site deployments, along with workforce management systems covering availability, leave, training and certification tracking. Industrial relations frameworks suitable for large-scale operations are also required, alongside compliance with licensing obligations, including a valid Queensland labour hire licence and security firm licence.

SECTECH 2026

The procurement highlights the scale and maturity of contemporary campus security operations, where workforce capability, system integration and operational resilience are central to service delivery.
