SECTECH Roadshow, which runs in Sydney on May 4, Melbourne May 9, Brisbane May 11, Adelaide May 18 and Perth, May 23, will take a look at a number of digital analogue camera technologies, as well as including a seminar on securing network-connected security devices.

The multi-technology test will run alongside our best-of-the-best low light camera shootout and we’ll separately analyse the performance of integrated IR bullet cameras – a fast growing segment with specific strengths and weaknesses. In Sydney, we’ll be pitting the best PTZ domes against each other and for good measure, we’re planning to threw a thermal PTZ into the mix just to get a sense of what’s what at extreme ranges.

In all camera categories, we will compare key parameters like motion blur, colour rendition, contrast, sharpness, flare and ghosting, latency, ISO noise, and noise suppression and rebuild artefacts. We’re especially interested in highlighting motion blur in unassisted low light scenes.

This year SecTech Roadshow will include a panel session on unquestionably the most pressing topic of the moment: Securing Network-Connected Security Devices. This will be hands-on, drawing on industry experts to lay out benchmark network security procedures for network-connected access control, alarm and video surveillance solutions.

SecTech Roadshow visits 5 cities in 2 weeks, drawing more than 1500 installers, integrators, consultants and end users to see the latest electronic security solutions in a focused an informal environment. There are 5 exhibitor spaces left in the Pantech – call Monique Keatinge on 61 2 9280 4425 and don’t miss out!

SecTech Roadies include Camera Shootout sponsors Hills and Genetec, as well as Bosch, LSC, CSD, Pelco, Video Security Products, C.R. Kennedy, Hikvision, ICT, Dahua, Mobotix, Tyco Security Products, BGWT, NX Witness and Q Security Systems. ♦
