NIDAC Releases Prescient Alarms Alongside Prescient DN4 Access Control System.

NIDAC Releases Prescient Alarms – Melbourne-based security manufacturer NIDAC has released its Prescient 2.7 firmware update combining intrusion detection, access control and automation within a unified system architecture designed for scalable deployments.

The company’s Prescient firmware 2.7 includes intrusion as a major feature update, with support up to 136 zones per area and more than 8000 zones across a DN4 mesh network.

Prescient firmware 2.7 allows large systems to be managed within a single environment. End-of-line resistor values are programmable at the individual DN4 level, with built-in templates or custom configurations supporting a wide range of installation requirements.

The platform also integrates video into alarm workflows, allowing multiple CCTV cameras to be assigned to an area and viewed directly via the Prescient user interface and mobile applications. This supports verification and response processes without requiring operators to move between systems.

A rules-based automation engine enables configuration of conditional logic, allowing integrators to build if/then scenarios aligned with operational requirements. Access control functions are integrated into alarm states, including double badge arming and single badge disarming, as well as the ability to grant or deny lift level access based on area status and assigned privileges.

Mobile access is supported, with Android and iOS applications scheduled for release, while a virtual RAS function using Android tablets is expected to be available from May 2026, extending system control to mobile and distributed interfaces.

The DN4 controller underpins the Prescient platform, supporting up to 4 doors per device and optimised for deployments of up to 256 doors when networked. The hardware supports up to 100,000 users per DN4, whether operating standalone or within a network, providing capacity for large enterprise applications.

The system is managed via a browser-based Prescient interface, designed to simplify commissioning and ongoing operation. A mesh network architecture supports rapid deployment and expansion, reducing installation complexity while allowing systems to scale as site requirements evolve.

NIDAC positions Prescient and DN4 as a combined access control and intrusion solution aimed at applications requiring integration, scalability and flexible automation across large or distributed sites.
