MSS Security, Wilson Security, SecureCorp and SNP will between them deploy more than 4000 security personnel at the Commonwealth Games in 2018, and hiring and training has begun.

GOLDOC Head of Security, Danny Baade said recently that the security workforce would include newly trained and experienced personnel.

“We’ll be providing a visible presence for GC2018 which is similar to what you would expect to see at a major Australian airport, while complementing the work of other security agencies,” Baade said.

Meanwhile, Transport and Commonwealth Games Minister, Stirling Hinchliffe said 30 per cent of the security workforce would be recruited from South East Queensland.

“The security workforce for the 2018 Commonwealth Games will be specially trained by GOLDOC and its partners to deliver a high-quality presence for the Games and new, industry recognised skills for hundreds of local workers,” said Hinchliffe.♦
