See TP-Link VIGI 4MP Varifocal Bullet At SecTech NZ – TP-Link’s VIGI InSight S345ZI is a 4MP outdoor bullet camera designed for flexible deployment across a range of surveillance environments, combining motorised optics, AI detection and ruggedised construction.
At the core of the camera is a motorised varifocal lens with 2.7–13.5mm focal length and 5x optical zoom, allowing installers to adjust field of view remotely and optimise coverage without physically repositioning the device. Horizontal field of view ranges from 29.6 to 102 degrees, supporting both wide-area and more focused applications.
The camera delivers 2688 x 1520 resolution using a 1/2.9-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor, with minimum illumination down to 0.005 lux and 0 lux with IR enabled. Infrared range extends to 60 metres, supported by Smart IR to manage exposure and maintain detail at varying distances.
Image performance is supported by True WDR at 120dB, 3D DNR noise reduction and white balance control, allowing the camera to maintain usable images in high contrast or low-light environments.
On the analytics side, the camera supports human and vehicle classification, filtering out non-relevant motion such as animals or environmental movement. Detection functions include intrusion, line crossing, loitering, object removal and abandoned object detection, along with abnormal sound and scene change detection.

According to TP-Link, the system is designed to reduce nuisance alarms while improving the speed and accuracy of post-event search through attribute-based filtering of people and vehicles.
The camera supports H.265+ compression, reducing bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining image quality, with bit rates ranging from 256Kbps to 6Mbps on the main stream.
Audio capability includes a built-in microphone with a capture range of around 4 metres, along with audio input and output for 2-way communication. Alarm I/O is also available for integration into broader systems.
Operationally, the unit supports PoE (802.3af/at) or 12V DC, includes onboard storage up to 512GB via microSD, and is rated to IP67 and IK10 for outdoor and vandal-resistant applications. Operating temperature ranges from -30 to 60C. The camera supports ONVIF profiles S, T and G, with compatibility across VIGI VMS, app and cloud platforms, as well as standard web browsers.
The VIGI S345ZI will be on show at SecTech NZ, with a focus on flexible installation, integrated analytics and reliable performance in outdoor environments – you can register for Sectech Christchurch here or read more SEN news here.
