Tecom Discovery Spotted At SecTech Roadshow – See Video.

Tecom Discovery Spotted At SecTech – Tecom TSX1000 Discovery, arguably the most anticipated release in access control of the past 10 years, was spotted on the DAS stand at SecTech Roadshow in Perth and Adelaide (don’t miss it at SecTech Sydney and Brisbane pre-register here).

The new TSX1000 controller hardware caused quite a stir, given installers, integrators, consultants and end users outside of NSW haven’t had a chance to see it before. DAS hadn’t formally announced Discovery was touring either, so it was quite a surprise to see it in pride of place on the WMS plinth.

This is tidy hardware, thoughtfully executed – the latest sample retains the early look but you can see the evolution. Supported by WMS Pro management software, Tecom Discovery will offer reduced install times, faster performance diagnoses, enhanced integrations.

Iimportantly for high-end Australian users, the system is being designed and manufactured in Melbourne Australia based on local market feedback by an Aritech team headed up by Dean Reilly.

TSX1000 has 4 relays, 16 inputs, no dip switches for new hardware, support for 4G/5G/Wi-Fi, 2nd NIC via USB, support for self-addressing devices, electronic LAN balancing, installers can connect existing Challenger input and relay expansion modules, and power is no longer 16V AC but 12-24V DC via 2.5A power supply.

There’s also a web browser for all apps and config options, Ethernet P2P to all hardware, built-in LAN RS-485 converter, general purpose 10A relays for doors, LEDs that indicate status for all I/Os, conveniently located power for all devices located adjacent to inputs, and readers supported include Weigand, clock & data and OSDP.

According to Aaron Cargill – he’s the guy you propellor heads are going to want to talk to on the DAS stand at SecTech – these functionalities are just a starting point. Tecom Discovery has system unity at its heart making this a very different solution from anything that has come before it.

Be sure to see Tecom Discovery in your SecTech city – Adelaide is tomorrow, Tuesday May 14, Melbourne is this Thursday May 16, while Sydney opens on May 21 and Brisbane is May 23.

Pre-register here to see Tecom Discovery and save loads of time – seriously – registering manually at the desk is a serious PIA, according to people in Perth.

Much easier to register now and scan your registration barcode in seconds at the registration desk. You can read more SEN news here.
