TROPAC IP Ventilated Field Cabinet – TROPAC IP aluminium field cabinets are designed for outdoor data, electrical and control installations, offering a rugged enclosure for network infrastructure operating in exposed environments.
The 36RU aluminium field cabinet measures 1975mm high, 750mm wide and 620mm deep and is designed for heavy-duty outdoor deployments including road and traffic management systems, intelligent transport systems and other field-based communications and electrical installations. The enclosure provides IP55 environmental protection and IK10 impact resistance, allowing sensitive equipment to operate in locations exposed to weather, dust and physical risk.
The cabinet is fabricated from 2.5mm marine-grade aluminium with a monoblock body design incorporating a plinth, rain hood and sunshield. Vent hoods are included for airflow management, while 4 cut-outs are provided for optional fans and filters where active cooling is required. The enclosure includes a 5mm aluminium split gland plate on the base to simplify cable entry and management.
Front and rear doors are also constructed from 2.5mm marine-grade aluminium and feature flush recessed mounting designed to reduce vandalism risk. Concealed removable hinges with captive pins allow doors to open to 110 degrees and heavy-duty door stays support safe access during maintenance.
Internally the cabinet provides front and rear 19-inch rack rails fabricated from 1.5mm galvanised steel sheet, supporting standard rack-mounted network and electrical equipment. Polyurethane foamed-in-place perimeter seals provide long-term environmental protection, and the doors are secured using a 3-point locking system with key-lock swing handle.
The cabinet is finished with UL-approved epoxy polyester powder coating in a textured Smoke-Blue finish with an average thickness of 80–120 microns, designed to provide corrosion resistance and durability in outdoor environments.
