Wesco Anixter NZ Distributing Takex – Wesco Anixter New Zealand has added Takex to its security distribution portfolio, bringing a range of detection technologies to the local market spanning perimeter protection, intrusion detection and environmental sensing.
Takex, a Japanese manufacturer with a long history in electronic detection devices, is known for its focus on sensor-based technologies designed to operate reliably in challenging environments. The range is deployed across domestic, commercial and industrial applications, including higher security sites in government and defence sectors, where stable detection performance and low false alarm rates are critical.
The Takex portfolio includes active infrared beam systems designed for perimeter protection. These systems utilise multiple beam paths and synchronised transmission to detect intrusion attempts across open boundaries, supporting long-range outdoor applications such as fences, building perimeters and critical infrastructure sites. Beam alignment stability and environmental tolerance are central to performance, particularly in locations exposed to weather, vegetation movement and varying light conditions.
Outdoor PIR detection is another core component of the range, supporting intrusion detection and CCTV activation. These sensors are designed to discriminate between genuine targets and environmental noise, using multi-zone detection patterns and signal processing to reduce nuisance alarms.
