X-Shield is built around the notion of turning safety events into immediate action. The device provides continuous monitoring of environmental conditions and potential threats, while allowing staff to initiate a response via an integrated emergency button. Alerts are delivered in real time to designated personnel, with 2-way communication supporting coordination during incidents.
At the core of the system is integration with the X-Guardian platform, which provides access to live data, system status and event notifications. From a hardware perspective, X-Shield combines multiple sensing and interface elements in a single enclosure. An optional card reader is supported, alongside backlit interface lighting and a 7-inch resolution touchscreen designed for direct interaction.
Environmental monitoring extends to airborne contaminants and broader safety conditions, with detection capability aimed at issues such as gas presence, air quality and behaviours including vaping and smoking. The system is designed to support compliance and duty of care requirements in controlled environments.
Power over Ethernet simplifies installation by allowing both power and data over a single cable, while AI voice activation enables hands-free operation using keyword triggers. Dual sensing supports detection of environmental hazards, temperature and occupancy conditions, contributing to situational awareness across a site.
In operation, the system monitors continuously and escalates events as required, either automatically through detection or manually via the emergency interface. Real-time notifications and communication workflows are handled through X-Guardian, supporting faster response and more efficient allocation of resources.
