NSW Department of Education has released an RFT on behalf of the Schools Security Unit for new security technology at 2240 schools across the state of New South Wales.
According to the RFT, the Schools Security Unit seeks to remodel and customize its services, introducing new technology to enable better productivity, operational efficiency and savings. Only security suppliers listed on the Whole of Government Integrated Security Contract List will be invited to participate.
The RFT states that for each region, a contract may be awarded based on the capacity and capability of the tenderer to support all the localities within the relevant region. Alternatively, a single source or multiple suppliers could be awarded the contract, depending on the tenderer’s capacity to provide all the required services within that region. However, the Department may consider a tender response for a region which involves a proposal for less than all the services, meaning a tenderer may provide a tender response which only proposes the provision of static guard services for a region.
Provision of the services outlined in this RFT will piggy back the newly formed Whole of Government Integrated Security Contract RFT 14000840 as the Head Agreement, explains the RFT, which confirms that the Department of Education is tendering on behalf of all NSW public schools state-wide.
The NSW Department of Education expects to open this procurement event for responses in DoE Ariba on the 17th of March 2017 and close the event on the 24th of April 2017.
With a budget of more than A$8 billion, over 2240 schools with a total enrolment of nearly 1 million students, the NSW Department of Education represents roughly 25 per cent of New South Wales’ state budget each year. ♦
