The Wyze Home Monitoring solution has the option of professional monitoring powered by Noonlight supported by an unidentified TMA 5-Diamond certified monitoring company that contacts police in an alarm event.
The solution, which is available in North America, includes contact and motion sensors, as well as a hub and keypad. The sensors are ‘updated’ versions of those in its $50 kit, which included a PIR motion sensor, 2 contact sensors and the Wyze Bridge, which plugged directly into the back of a Wyze Cam.
Monitoring is $5 per month or $60 for a year and users can get the hardware for free when signing up for a year, otherwise they will have to pay another $50.
Since launching its first security camera, Wyze has released a variety of smart home products, including a robot vacuum, sprinkler controller, scale and smartwatch among other devices — all at very affordable prices.
While there’s nothing this affordable on the Australian market, such a solution is a signpost professional installers and monitoring providers should keep an eye on over the next few years, as hardware prices continue to fall and superfast comms drench the market.
