Nortek Control has released the 2GIG Edge Security and Automation Panel with artificial intelligence (AI) and edge analytics.
Nortek said 2GIG Edge was the first security panel to offer touchless disarm based on face recognition powered by edge analytics to ensure homeowner’s biometric data stays secure. The panel also has 100 per cent compatibility with live feed of ONVIF cameras.
2GIG EDGE panel is 50 per cent thinner, while featuring a higher resolution glass screen with no plastic bezel, and is 5x brighter and twice as large. The panel allows users to seamlessly connect to cameras, doorbell cameras and directly view video in real time from up to 8 different camera feeds.
There’s also dual microphones with noise and echo cancellation and front firing speakers that enable 2-way voice communication. Additional features include a built-in radio and WiFi communications, camera and glass break sensor.
The panel’s 1.6 GHz quad-core processor makes it one of the fastest panels on the market and 4x faster and more powerful than previous generation 2GIG panels, according to Nortek.

Further increasing security and data privacy, encrypted sensors and devices help eliminate system hacks and prevent account take-overs. In addition, integrators are able to customize the panel to a homeowner’s personal needs with controls, rules, scenes, notifications and Smart Areas zone partitioning.
