Moderna mRNA Vaccine Security Supply and Installation.
Moderna mRNA Vaccine Security – Moderna’s mRNA vaccine facility in the Monash Technology Precinct, adjacent to Monash University in Victoria, requires security, electrical, comms, IT and AV.
Security will cover CCTV, alarms, access control and automation functions, with a centralised software management solution and the cutting edge facility will employ 500 jobs in the construction phase.
The facility is being established under a 10-year partnership between Moderna and the Australian Government and the Victorian Government, and is expected to be the first facility of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. The facility will be capable of producing up to 100 million respiratory vaccine doses annually.
Production will include COVID-19 vaccines as well as mRNA vaccines for other respiratory viruses and the facility will provide Australia with an onshore mRNA manufacturing capability in the event of a new pandemic. The main building will have an approximate internal measure of 10,000 square metres and a landscaping area of approximately 7500 square metres.
Multiplex Constructions have been appointed as managing contractor for the project and will be the main point of contact for subcontractors on site. Works on site have already commenced. Packages advertised on ICN Gateway are programmed to commence as early as April 2023 and completion of works in early 2024.
An online Moderna industry briefing will be held online on March 15 from 3-4pm – a link will be announced shortly when the Moderna mRNA Vaccine Security tender is released around March 12. You can follow the tender here, or see more SEN tenders here.
