Ajax Superior NVR H2D Series – Ajax is preparing to release its Superior NVR H2D series, a new line of AI-enabled network video recorders designed to bring intelligent analytics to both new and existing surveillance systems – you can check NVR H2D at SecTech Perth register here!
The key functionality is the addition of AI at the recorder level. The H2D series enables standard third-party cameras to recognise people, pets and vehicles using onboard analytics, without requiring camera replacement. That effectively upgrades legacy systems to Ajax-level functionality without a full hardware refresh.
The units include built-in VMS, 4K HDMI output and USB connectivity, allowing direct live view and playback on a local display, even without an internet connection. That keeps systems operational in isolated or degraded network environments.
From a deployment perspective, the platform is designed to scale. Models in the range support up to 32 channels, with dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for integration into more demanding network environments. Up to 16 PoE ports are available for direct camera connection and power, simplifying installation on smaller to mid-sized sites.
Storage and uptime are also addressed, with support for up to 24TB and dual hot-swappable HDDs, allowing maintenance without interrupting recording.
The H2D series sits within the broader Ajax ecosystem but retains flexibility, supporting both native Ajax cameras and third-party devices via ONVIF and RTSP, allowing mixed deployments across a range of project types.
