CCTV For Coleambally Battery Project Sought By Octopus Australia.

CCTV For Coleambally Battery Project – Octopus Australia has opened an expression of interest for CCTV supply and installation at the Coleambally Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). There are additional elements of the project that may be of interest to security suppliers, including site security and fencing.

The scope centres on video surveillance as part of a broader security approach for a large-scale energy asset. The Coleambally project is a 100MW/400MWh standalone battery system, designed to store excess solar generation and dispatch power during peak demand, supporting grid stability across New South Wales.

Located around 7.5km north of Coleambally in the Murrumbidgee region, the site forms part of a wider renewable portfolio that includes the nearby 333MW Darlington Point Solar Farm. The development also includes a 132/33kV substation and connection to the Transgrid network via a 1km underground cable.

Within that context, CCTV will need to operate across a distributed, high-value site with minimal on-site presence. Coverage, reliability and integration into broader operational systems will be key, particularly in an environment exposed to weather, distance and limited infrastructure.

Octopus Australia is progressing the project under a full-wrap EPC model, covering design through to commissioning and operations. As developer and long-term asset manager, the company is focused on systems that support both security and ongoing operational visibility across the asset lifecycle.

OA forms part of the broader Octopus Group, founded in 2000, which operates across investment management, venture capital, energy and real estate. Octopus Group employs more than 4000 people and manages over $US22 billion, with over 300 renewable energy assets globally totalling 3GW of generation capacity.
