With the escalation in the number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia, ASIAL has implemented a range of measures to ensure continuity in the level of service provided to members, including regular updates available here.

ASIAL’s work with regulators, government, standards development, media comment, and providing advice and support to members will continue, with face-to-face meetings replaced with audio and video conferencing.

“ASIAL has called on Government to clarify essential service status if a lockdown is implemented as concern in the security industry mounts,” said ASIAL’s Bryan de Caires. “We have also written to federal, state and territory government to explore how available capacity and capability in the industry can be harnessed to support law enforcement resources and other measures in responding to the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic.

“As a precautionary measure ASIAL Industry Breakfast Briefings have been postponed for the time being, in their place the Association has made available COVID-19 resources including webinars, podcasts, newsletters and a dedicated web page to members on
    important developments.

“ASIAL has in place scalable and sustainable strategies to ensure its continued operation,” de Caires said. “This includes our cloud-based membership management system and digital communications platform which allows ASIAL Secretariat staff to work from home as and when required.

“We will keep members updated on a regular basis on developments and other important industry news. In the meantime, please continue to contact us if you have any questions or need advice and support – remember we are here to help.”
