ASSA ABLOY Acquires DoorBird

ASSA ABLOY Group has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in German video doorbell manufacturer, Bird Home Automation GmbH, for undisclosed terms.

According to ASSA ABLOY, the plan is to further expand its DoorBird IP-based video door intercoms, access control devices, indoor stations and accessories as part of ASSA ABLOY’s smart home and access control offering. The company said it has the scale to further invest in the home automation market.

“I look forward to welcoming DoorBird and their employees into the ASSA ABLOY Group,” said Nico Delvaux, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY.

“DoorBird is a strategic technological addition to the ASSA ABLOY Group and will reinforce our offering with IP door intercom and provide complementary growth opportunities.”
