24-hour Security Monitoring And Reporting Tender Sought By Department for Education, Children and Young People.

24-hour Security Monitoring And Reporting Tender – Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) has released a tender seeking a contractor to provide 24-hour security monitoring and reporting services across its electronic security estate.

The tender calls for a central monitoring service capable of managing alarms and events generated by security detection systems, with a focus on continuous operation, incident response and structured reporting.

Note that evidence of a current of Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL) Grade A1 certification is a prerequisite for this tender.

The scope centres on delivery of a dedicated monitoring capability overseeing intrusion detection and related alarm systems deployed across DECYP-managed sites. This includes real-time alarm handling, escalation procedures, operator intervention and the provision of reporting aligned to operational and compliance requirements.

The security monitoring service is expected to support consistent response protocols and maintain visibility across multiple sites around Tasmania.

DECYP is responsible for the delivery of education and child-focused services across Tasmania, managing a broad network of schools, administrative facilities and associated infrastructure.

The department’s footprint spans metropolitan and regional locations, creating a requirement for monitoring services that can operate reliably across varied environments and support assets with differing risk profiles.

SEN is speculating here, but it’s likely the alarm monitoring service will be expected to integrate with existing electronic security systems and provide centralised oversight.

Reporting obligations are likely to include incident logs, response tracking and system performance data to support operational review and accountability. While there’s no mention of it this may include duress monitoring.

This 24-hour security monitoring and reporting tender closes at 2pm April 15 – you can find out more here or read more SEN news here.
