A range of Assa Abloy products has been installed to secure the award-winning Translational Research Institute (TRI) building in Brisbane, Australia.
The $A177 million, 32,000 square meter building is one of the largest medical research institutes in the southern hemisphere – therefore demanded a high-tech access control solution and first-rate security in keeping with the manner of research conducted at a world-class laboratory. The new 7-story TRI building comprises 4 floors of laboratory research plus facilities for research support, administration and teaching.
To meet the challenge, Assa Abloy Australia liaised with the architects and helped to prepare schedules. Complicated door and frame designs contributed to the complexity of the task. The answer was to supply multiple products – under the Lockwood, Abloy Protec and Padde by Lockwood brands – to secure this ground-breaking facility.
These include 3570 series Lockwood commercial mortise locks – both mechanical and electric – combined with 1800 series Lockwood commercial square end plate furniture. Trimec V-Locks and Padde electromagnets are used for access control and the keying system is Abloy Protec.
