ASSA ABLOY To Acquire Gunnebo Entrance Control – ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire Gunnebo Entrance Control, expanding its portfolio of pedestrian entrance solutions with the addition of a business specialising in speed gates, mass transit gates and security revolving doors.

The acquisition strengthens ASSA ABLOY’s Entrance Systems Division and adds complementary entrance control technologies to its existing access and pedestrian management offering.

“I look forward to welcoming the Gunnebo Entrance Control team to ASSA ABLOY,” said Nico Delvaux, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY.

“This acquisition delivers on our strategy to strengthen our position in mature markets through adding complementary products and solutions to our core business.”

Gunnebo Entrance Control designs and manufactures entrance control products used in commercial buildings, transport infrastructure and high-security environments, including speed gates, security revolving doors and automated pedestrian access systems. The business has around 670 employees and is headquartered in Maresfield, United Kingdom, with manufacturing facilities across Europe, the United States and Asia.

Following completion of the transaction, Gunnebo Entrance Control will become part of the Pedestrian business segment within ASSA ABLOY’s Entrance Systems Division.

“Gunnebo Entrance Control’s well-established entrance control portfolio, strong team, and deep industry expertise will enhance and complement our current offering in pedestrian access solutions,” said Massimo Grassi, executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY and head of the Entrance Systems Division.

“By adding talented people, strong expertise, and innovative solutions, we will further strengthen our ability to support customers with secure, reliable and efficient entrance solutions.”
