Avigilon 8-Door Smart Hub – Avigilon 8-Door Smart Hub is a modular access control controller designed to support secure, scalable door control with cloud management and offline resilience, delivering flexible expansion, encrypted communications, and centralised administration across multiple doors and sites.
Avigilon Smart Hub supports up to 8 Avigilon Smart Readers via RS-485 wiring and connects to expansion boards that provide door control, request-to-exit inputs, and contact sensor monitoring. A built-in 12/24VDC power supply supports locking hardware directly, reducing the need for external power components.
The platform is designed around a future-proof access control core that makes all entry decisions locally while remaining fully managed through the cloud. A key operational feature is CloudSync, Avigilon’s offline-first technology. This allows the system to continue operating if the internet connection is lost, maintaining door functionality and access decisions until connectivity is restored. When online, the Smart Hub supports 100 percent remote cloud management, including configuration, diagnostics, monitoring, and system communication.
Installation and expansion are handled via plug-and-play. The Smart Hub is compatible with on-premise physical systems and software-based platforms, allowing integrators to deploy hybrid solutions where required. Meanwhile, integrated network and device monitoring tools support remote troubleshooting and system health checks, reducing the need for site visits – that saves techs time and money.
The controller provides 8 door relays rated at 5A at 24V DC and 4 auxiliary relays rated at 1A at 24V DC, along with configurable auxiliary I/O for additional sensors or Wiegand devices. It includes end-of-line monitoring on all REX, contact, and auxiliary inputs. Backup power is supported via 2 x 12VDC sealed lead-acid or gel batteries installed in series. The system is housed in a LifeSafety Power E2 enclosure with a pre-installed 24V power supply and relay modules.
The Avigilon 12/24V 8-Door Smart Hub operates between 0 and 50C with humidity up to 85 per cent non-condensing and is certified to UL294, CAN/ULC-60839, CE, FCC, IC, NOM, RoHS, and UKCA standards – giving peace of mind, there’s a lifetime limited warranty, too.
