Axis Launches New Genetec Metadata Integration

Axis Communications has launched a new metadata integration within Genetec Security Center offering an efficient way to search for, recover, and share vast amounts of video evidence without any servers.

Available as a free download on both server and client, this integration accelerates forensic investigations by streamlining search for objects, people, or incidents. It’s possible to efficiently pinpoint a single object or incident from video captured on Axis cameras, reducing analysis time from hours to minutes.

The company said AXIS Forensic Search for Genetec is ideal for investigations that begin with only a minimal number of known details, for example, the location of an incident. It integrates Axis camera metadata into Genetec Security Center using both motion object tracking and object classification metadata to enable accurate identification without the need for any servers.

Metadata is generated and analyzed inside Axis cameras to save time and reduce costs when compared to traditional approaches where the camera sends data to servers for analysis.

This cost-efficient solution makes it easy to extract, manage, and share search results as video evidence. Furthermore, it integrates Genetec’s data visualization to help improve response and analysis times. Metadata from all cameras is compiled and visualized in graphs and charts to help the audience quickly understand the search data that is presented.

Key features include:

* Enables forensic search without servers
* Metadata search for objects, people, and incidents
* Easily filter search results
* Quickly and securely share video evidence
* Available as a free download.
