AXIS W101 Body Worn Camera is a robust and easy-to-use body worn camera featuring the KlickFast mounting system and full HD video stream.
According to Axis, the unit delivers clear audio with noise suppression and sharp images, with Axis’ proven Zipstream technology lowering bandwidth and storage requirements without compromising video quality and there’s a 3-year warranty.
AXIS W101 offers over 12 hours of lithium ion battery time at 1080p and 30ips (17 hours operating time), with charging by any USB-C charger. Recording is activated automatically upon unholstering and person down.
The location of the camera can be continuously recorded with the built-in GNSS receiver (location tracking). Built-in Bluetooth, and network technologies provide wireless communication with, for example, the AXIS Body Worn Assistant mobile app.
The unit’s camera has a 1/2.9-inch progressive scan RGB CMOS, with a minimum scene illumination of 0.1 lux, a focal length of 2.1 mm and a horizontal field of view of 141 degrees.
Video compression options include H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10/AVC) high profile and there are built-in dual microphones, functionality voice enhancement and AES256 encryption. Storage including 64GB non-volatile memory giving up to 30 hours of recorded video and recording configurable audio and video pre-buffer can be set to 0, 15, 30, 60, or 90 seconds before activation.
Positioning system options include GPS, GLONASS and Galileo, there’s location start and end track and a 6-axis gyro and accelerometer to detect man down events, while user interface status indicators include audio and vibration feedback.
The unit has cybersecurity signed firmware with CJIS-compliant encrypted internal storage, Axis Edge Vault with Axis device ID, a plastic casing that’s IP67-rated and drop tested to 2 metres and is available in black or white.
Operating temperature range is -20 to 55C and dimensions are 94mm tall, 68mm wide and 27mm deep, with a weight of 179g. You can find out more from Axis or local distributors.
