BGWT hosted a very special event with its manufacturer partners on the Gold Coast mid-September, with around 50 integrators enjoying beaut weather, great hospitality and a close look at some of the cleverest solutions around.
Manufacturers in the compact expo/seminar included Sony, Firetide, TZ (IP-based cabinet access control), Envirovision, BPT (video intercom), S2, SES (redundant power solutions) and MMC, with integrators getting a tight half-hour run-through of each technology. In terms of balance, the whole thing was just about perfect.
When it came to technology, Sony was showing off its new 1080p HD PTZ, which was brilliant in low light. Other solutions I particularly liked included Envirovision, which offered deep monitoring of power consumption by browser, MMC’s high end connectors, and S2’s browser-based access control and video surveillance solutions which we’ve drooled over before in SEN.
According to BGWT’s Josh Simmons, the event went brilliantly and he said both supplier partners and integrators were delighted with its success.
“This was a thank you to our customers who have been there from the start and to our new customers and business partners,” Simmons said. “It was a chance to see great solutions, as well as being an opportunity for everybody to let their hair down and have some fun.”
Along with work time, there was a dinner attended by cricketing great, Ian Healy and former rugby league star Chris Johns, as well as BGWT’s CEO, Laurie Murphy, who gave a memorable welcoming speech earlier in the day.
At the dinner the award ‘In recognition for Support of Sony and BGW Technologies’ went to ECS Services – the award ‘In recognition for Support of Firetide and BGW Technologies’ went to SNP and the award ‘In recognition for Support of MMC and BGW Technologies went to Avtel Global’.
“From our perspective, we’re very happy with how it’s gone,” said Simmons. “The integrators we have here are the companies we want to be working with – they are the very best at what they do. I’d also like to thank our great suppliers and the whole BGWT team for their contribution to a great success.”
