Blue Mackerel North Seeks CCTV, Access Control And Alarm Monitoring For Offshore Wind Project In Gippsland.

Blue Mackerel North Seeks CCTV, Access Control – Blue Mackerel North is seeking a security provider to deliver manned and electronic security, access control, CCTV and monitoring for onshore sites of the Blue Mackerel Offshore Wind Project in Gippsland, Victoria.

The security package forms part of a series of supply chain opportunities released during the project’s pre-FEED phase and includes permanent security requirements for the proposed operations and maintenance base and onshore substation.

The Project is located around 10km off the Gippsland coast between Seaspray and Woodside Beach and is backed by the JERA Nex bp joint venture. The project is targeting commissioning in 2032 and has a potential generating capacity of up to 1GW.

Blue Mackerel was awarded feasibility licence FL001 in April 2024, covering a 163-square-kilometre area within the Gippsland Declared Offshore Wind Zone. The project is now progressing through a 7-year feasibility phase incorporating marine surveys, environmental monitoring, planning assessments and stakeholder consultation.

Work completed to date includes geotechnical surveys, deployment of FLiDAR and wave buoys and an environmental baseline campaign incorporating aerial marine mammal monitoring and acoustic sensors.

The current pre-FEED procurement process includes work packages covering site security, electrical infrastructure and SCADA systems, with the packages contributing to design planning, cost estimation, risk management and development of the project’s delivery strategy.

For the security package, Blue Mackerel North is seeking a provider to safeguard materials and equipment and deliver manned and electronic security at the operations and maintenance base and onshore substation on a permanent basis during operations.

The scope also includes access control, CCTV and monitoring, perimeter and marine-side security protecting berth and laydown areas, as well as secure handling of spares and high-value equipment.
