CABVIX Security And Network Infrastructure Management
CABVIX Security And Network Infrastructure Management Developed In Tasmania.
CABVIX Security And Network Infrastructure Management – Tasmanian security and network integration company Securatech has developed CABVIX, a software platform designed to document network and security infrastructure as it is installed, serviced and modified.

Each model carries its true U height, ports and power draw, so a switch dropped into an elevation takes the rack units it really takes, gets an ID from its rack and lowest RU (A-SW01 style), and its patching and power move with it.

CABVIX addresses the problem of installation records becoming detached from the physical system. Rather than relying on spreadsheets, photographs and diagrams that can become outdated, the platform records racks, equipment, power, patching, structured cabling, outlets and network links in a live site record.
The system can be used during installation or surveying. Installers can build rack elevations using equipment from a hardware library, record equipment at its actual rack unit position, document power connections and patching, and map connections from patch panels through to wall outlets and switches. The system also records network links leaving the rack and can generate a network topology from the information entered.
What “Trace” actually doesOne wall outlet, followed all the way to the carrierThe reason a physical-layer record earns its keep. Run from a rack’s Outlets tab, Trace walks the documented hops in order, carrying the patch-lead colour, and stops where the record stops.← swipe to see the full path →
Hop 1 · cablingOutlet to panel port, recorded at the wall during the survey, tone-out or fit-out
Hop 2 · patchingPanel port to switch port, with the lead colour; rogue leads are flagged
Hop 3 · linksUplinks between switches, racks and sites, copper, fibre or wireless
Hop 4 · WANCarrier circuits and VPNs, so the trace ends at the internet, not the rack door
SEN illustration. IDs, lengths and the lead colour are invented to show the shape of a trace; the ID style (rack letter, type, lowest RU) follows CABVIX’s own convention. The hop types are the ones the vendor lists as recorded: structured cabling, patching, network links, WAN circuits and VPNs.
A hardware library contains more than 2300 models from more than 110 brands, with equipment recorded by model, rack position, ports and power requirements. CABVIX automatically assigns reference IDs to equipment and can identify whether equipment will fit within the available rack space.
The platform also includes a 3D rack view generated from the documented rack rather than requiring a separate 3D model. Equipment is shown in its rack position, with patch leads and power connections forming part of the record.

For field work, CABVIX supports QR labels on cabinets and equipment, allowing technicians to access the relevant record while working on site. Activity logging records who made changes, while documentation health functions identify gaps such as missing labels or incomplete records. The platform also supports contractor access and handover of completed site records.
One of the more technical functions is Blast Radius, which uses the documented power, patching, structured cabling, uplinks, WAN circuits and VPN connections to model the effect of failures. A technician can simulate the failure of a device, rack, link or mains supply and identify equipment and outlets affected by the failure. The system can also identify weaknesses such as equipment without UPS protection, single internet services or single power supplies.

All clear. Two sites, one rack each. The North Tower rack carries the gateway, recorder and reception outlets on a single UPS; South Clinic reaches the internet only through the fibre back to SW-CORE-01.How to read it. The three layers are the ones Securatech describes: outlets that lose all network, outlets that keep the local network but lose internet, and gear that keeps running on a UPS or backup link. The topology, IDs and outcomes here are SEN’s illustration of that logic, not output from CABVIX; the real feature also scores every single point of failure and flags mains without a UPS, a single internet service or a single power supply.
CABVIX is currently in private beta with managed service providers and integrators using the platform on live jobs. The software is being developed by Securatech and customer records are stored in Sydney while the platform supports sign-in using Microsoft 365 or Google accounts, as well as email and password authentication, with optional 2-step authentication.
The system is also being extended into electronic security documentation. Securatech is developing modules for recording access control, intruder alarm panels, CCTV, PA and paging systems down to terminals and wiring.
Brands supported in these modules include Inner Range, ICT, Tecom, Salto, Ajax, Gallagher, Genetec, Milestone, Bosch, Avigilon, Hanwha Vision, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, IDIS, Uniview, VIVOTEK, Secure Logiq, Fortinet, SonicWall, Check Point, WatchGuard, Barracuda, Palo Alto Networks, Sophos, Ruckus and TP-Link’s VIGI solutions.
Where it is, where it’s goingA network record today; an electronic security record nextFor an integrator the interesting part is the second column: the same rack-and-cable discipline pushed down to doors, detectors, cameras and speakers. The vendor gives no release dates for any of it.

Meanwhile, a separate CABVIX Scope platform is being developed for consultants, engineers, architects and other specifiers. It is intended to allow security and infrastructure systems to be marked up directly on floor plans, with quantities, schedules and tender documentation generated from the design.
CABVIX is currently available through a private beta, with Securatech seeking users ahead of the wider release – reach out to Securatech here or CABVIX here to learn more – there’s more SEN news here.
