Claus Mauer Hire Strengthens SensaTek Qld

CLAUS Mauer has joined boutique electronic security distributor SensaTek as district account executive in Queensland. Mauer, who began his career as a support specialist back in 1995, has most recently held a position at Axis Communications as a key account manager.

According to Mauer, his decision to join SensaTek was motivated by the desire to work for a customer-focused distributor, that is able to sell not only great products, but also sophisticated solutions based on a market-leading product portfolio.

“SensaTek is a young company, but the team has a lot of experience, with a focus on building relationships, creating demand and support its customers,” Mauer said. “Building the business is a major task, but we have the right people and products to do it. As far as I can tell, the market response has been exceptional and that suggests that SensaTek is heading in the right direction.”

Mauer said, leading brands like Aimetis, Vivotek, Vicon & HPE increased the appeal of SensaTek.

“Vicon is a bit like the forgotten child in the security industry, but they certainly are ready for a comeback. They have a very competitive range of new, state of the art products, that feature the latest and greatest technologies” he said.

“Another outstanding product is the Aimetis VMS. For some reason it hasn’t had the exposure in the Australian market it deserves, but we are going to change that. It will give the market a competitive alternative to currently established products.

“In particular I am looking forward to work with Vivotek, which is a versatile and agile company able and willing to change/customise products to meet market needs,” Mauer said. “Vivotek is a brand that will grow its market share in Australia significantly over the next 12 months and I’m very much looking forward to being part of that success.”

Meanwhile SensaTek’s managing director Bill Barbagiannakos said Mauer will be a major asset to the business.

“Claus, who ran his own independent consultant business in Germany before moving to Australia in 2007, most recently sold enterprise solutions at Axis Communications. He will be a great addition to the team and our customers in QLD, NT, PNG and Fiji,” Barbagiannakos said.

“Claus is technically well versed, as well as a people person, who is committed to build working relationships with system integrators, consultants and end users – that commitment is what defines the SensaTek business.”

According to Barbagiannakos, the SensaTek team will continue to expand, with additional announcements coming soon.
