Craig Schutte Marks 25 Years with Gallagher — Gallagher Security executive vice president APAC and IMEA Craig Schutte has marked 25 years with the company, attributing his long tenure and success to the people he’s worked with across Australia, New Zealand, India, the Middle East and Africa.
Schutte, who immigrated to Australia from South Africa in 2000, joined Gallagher as a sales engineer in Victoria, going on to hold national and strategic business roles before his appointment as general manager in 2016. His current regional leadership role reflects Gallagher’s ongoing expansion in Asia-Pacific and the IMEA region.
Schutte’s association with the company began even earlier, in 1994, when as the owner of a Gallagher channel partner business in South Africa, he first engaged with the brand.
“Coming to Australia was a big move, one which presented a huge opportunity, and one I’m very grateful for,” Schutte said. “That move set me up for success and allowed me to best understand the Gallagher business from the ground up, as well as appreciating the complexities of the business and our channel partner model. Those learnings have stayed with me and continue to influence my role today.”
Schutte said his connection to the company’s people-first culture remains central to his work.
“I am proud of this team, and the culture we have built together, and I think that is positively reflected in the tenure of our staff, many of whom are celebrating more than 15 years with the company,” he said.
“I am passionate about enabling our team to evolve and am committed to lifting our people up and coaching them throughout their careers with Gallagher.”
Schutte recognised the influence of Sir William Gallagher, Kahl Betham and Mark Junge, describing their support as instrumental to his career.
“I really value the long-lasting friendships and the special culture at Gallagher that fosters these relationships,” Schutte said.
Meanwhile, Gallagher chief executive, Mark Junge, acknowledged Schutte’s contribution to Gallagher’s growth.
“Craig’s role has evolved remarkably over the years, and as vice president APAC IMEA he leads dynamic and talented teams,” Junge said. “His unwavering dedication and commitment to his role and team are inspiring.”
