Dallmeier launches Panomera S4 Skyview For Airport Airspace Surveillance.
Dallmeier launches Panomera S4 Skyview – Dallmeier has released the Panomera S4 Skyview, a multifocal sensor camera system designed to provide high-resolution monitoring of airport airspace.
The system is based on Dallmeier’s multifocal sensor technology, combining multiple sensors to deliver a real-time resolution of 40MP. This allows wide-area coverage while maintaining consistent pixel density across the scene, supporting both live monitoring and forensic review.
A key design feature is the upward-oriented vertical capture angle, enabling continuous monitoring of airspace above ground level. This allows detection and tracking of aircraft, bird activity and unmanned aerial objects at early stages of movement, extending surveillance beyond traditional ground-focused camera deployments.
All image sectors are recorded continuously in full resolution, supporting post-event analysis without gaps or resolution loss across the scene.
The system delivers a dynamic range of 130dB UWDR, maintaining image detail in challenging lighting conditions, including bright sky backgrounds and high contrast environments. Video is encoded using H.265 at up to 30fps, supporting efficient transmission and storage.

The internal lens arrangement allows the camera to be installed horizontally while maintaining vertical coverage. This configuration protects the optical surface from direct exposure to rain and snow, reducing image degradation in adverse weather.
The unit can be fitted with a sunshield to reduce direct solar load, while compatibility with Dallmeier’s Air Blast System enables non-contact cleaning of the lens using compressed air. This removes debris without physical wear, maintaining image clarity over time.
The housing is rated to IP69 and includes integrated heating and a double-shell convection cooling system, supporting operation in extreme environmental conditions. The absence of moving parts removes the need for mechanical maintenance associated with PTZ systems.
Edge storage is supported, and the system integrates via ONVIF profiles M, S and T, allowing deployment within open VMS environments and supporting data protection requirements.
Installation is supported via the Mountera mounting platform, enabling flexible positioning and integration into existing infrastructure.
Operationally, the Panomera S4 Skyview extends surveillance coverage into airspace, complementing ground-based systems such as runway monitoring cameras. This allows a combined view of air and ground activity within a single surveillance architecture, supporting applications including perimeter monitoring, approach tracking and blind spot coverage in tower operations.
