Dallmeier RDF6800DN 8MP Dome Camera With 12–40mm Focal Range And Dallmeier EdgeAnalytics.
Dallmeier RDF6800DN 8MP Dome Camera – Dallmeier’s RDF6800DN is a vandal-resistant 8MP dome camera in the Domera RDF6000DN series and local distributor CRK Security says the camera is designed for applications requiring reliable, real-time surveillance in challenging environments.
Featuring a 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor, the 6800DN supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30fps and includes adaptive IR and white light illumination integrated into the housing ring, positioned outside the bubble to eliminate glare and reflection.
The RDF6800DN uses a motorised varifocal lens with 12–40mm focal range and P-Iris control, allowing fine remote adjustment of zoom, focus, and iris settings. The PTRZ-enabled 3-axis gimbal permits complete remote positioning of the camera, including pan, tilt, rotate, and zoom, accessible via the Domera OS web interface. Once installed, no manual adjustment is required on site.
The camera’s EdgeAnalytics system is powered by deep learning AI, classifying people, vehicles, and other object types in real-time. AI apps such as line crossing, loitering, people counting, and intrusion detection operate on-device, sending enriched video and metadata to Dallmeier recorders or third-party systems via ONVIF (Profiles G, M, S, T) or MQTT.
The 6800DN includes dual IR and white-light LEDs with adaptive angle and intensity control based on the lens setting, ensuring optimal image quality across variable lighting conditions. With support for Dallmeier EdgeRecording to SD card (up to 64GB), the camera can locally store dual streams triggered by AI events, with pre-trigger and post-trigger configuration.
Built around Domera OS, a hardened Linux operating system with strict cybersecurity controls, the RDF6800DN includes TLS 1.3/AES-256 encryption, IEEE 802.1X authentication, port management, and GDPR-compliant privacy masking. Regular third-party penetration testing ensures security controls remain effective.
The camera supports video compression in H.264, H.265, and MJPEG formats, offers up to 3 simultaneous video streams, and includes ambient light sensing, automatic day/night switching, and digital WDR (120dB). It is IP66-rated when used with the Domera wall bracket and achieves IK10 impact protection.
Power is supplied via PoE or 24–48V DC, and power consumption is up to 12W. The camera includes integrated microphone, contact I/O, and optional audio interfaces. You can learn more about CRK Security here or read more SEN news here.
