Department Of Education Alarms and CCTV Panels Sought.

Department Of Education Alarms and CCTV – Victoria’s Department of Education has floated a future tender seeking alarm and CCTV panels to assist management of its security strategy.

The Department of Education (Department) provides a centrally funded intruder prevention program on behalf of Victorian government schools to mitigate risk to school staff and assets from unauthorised intruders across 1500 public schools.

This program includes both an alarm response service, and a school alarm installation, testing and maintenance service, which includes the installation of CCTV or access control and alarm systems at schools.

The department intends to establish 2 panels of contracted electronic security service providers (suppliers) to provide alarm and CCTV maintenance and installation and additional security-related services to schools across the State.

The alarm and CCTV panels will be contracted for 3 years, with 2 12-month optional extensions. A supplier can apply for either or both panels, in addition, a supplier applying for either panel can apply for additional services. Allocation of works by panel will be at the discretion of the department.

Suppliers are invited to attend an optional Industry Briefing which will be held virtually at 2pm on February 29 via Microsoft Teams. Suppliers unable to attend the industry briefing can download a copy of the briefing slides – additional information provided at the briefing will be made available through the Buying for Victoria portal after the industry briefing has been conducted.

Suppliers must register their intent to attend the virtual industry briefing by emailing corinna.mackertich@education.vic.gov.au, at minimum 1 business day prior – before you attend, note that this is a future tender with an expected release date of February 22, so don’t inundate Corinna weeks in advance.

Dates to remember – February 22 is the expected release date and there’s an optional industry briefing on February 29 at 2pm – you can find out more here or read more SEN news here.
