DSC Outdoor Octa-Quad Mirror Detector – DSC’s LC-181 Octa-Quad outdoor motion sensor from BGW Technologies features 8 independent quad PIR detectors operating in quad configuration.
The LC-181 is rated IP55 against water and dust, has an operating temperature of -35 to 60C and white light immunity greater than 25,000 lux. This sensor has a 12-metre range and a 90-degree angle of detection.
These capable outdoor sensors feature DSC’s true motion recognition (TMR) processing for each of the 8 PIR detectors, along with central motion processing that can distinguish between a moving intruder and moving trees and bushes.
Other features include DSC’s Advance Obsidian Black Mirror optics, high protection against snow, rain, dust, wind and direct sunlight, tamper protection against opening and removal from wall and an alarm LED that is visible in sunlight.
Outdoor Motion Detectors
There’s low voltage detection, self-test, robust housing with recessed window, smart anti masking that can distinguish between masking spray and rain, immunity to false alarms from small pets and a built-in swivel bracket.
Input voltage is 8-16V DC with low voltage detection below 7.5V DC, and standby current draw is 15mA at 12V DC. The alarm output and trouble outputs are normally closed solid state relays, and there’s also a normally closed tamper output that’s activated when the sensor’s cover is removed. There’s also masking detection.
Mounting height is 1.5 – 3.0m, vertical adjustment: is 0-10 degrees in 2.5-degree steps, and there’s horizontal adjustment from -45 to +45 degrees in 5-degree steps. Dimensions are 157 high x 147 long x 124mm deep.
