    Earth Your Metal Conduits

♦ Earth your metal security conduits – when you’re installing metal conduits and junction boxes, you need to ensure that each conduit is earthed at the start of the run by connecting the conduit to an earthed metal enclosure – a switchboard, for instance – using locknuts.

If that’s not possible then you need to earth to an earthing conductor’s earth clip hooked up to the conduit. As the installation progresses, devices out in the field are then earthed if they are connected to the metal conduit and/or junction box/etc, carrying power and comms.

Field devices can also be connected directly to earthed conduits, pipes, tubes or troughs. Be sure you use the mandatory green/yellow cable colour combo for your earth conductors so techs in the future can understand your system plan and your safety schedule.
