EOS Australia Launches NexSolar Remote Surveillance Pole For Off-Grid Applications.
EOS Australia Launches NexSolar Remote Surveillance Pole – EOS Australia has released NexSolar, a self-contained solar-powered surveillance platform designed for deployment in remote and off-grid environments.
The system is engineered as a complete field solution rather than a standalone solar add-on, combining power generation, storage, networking and video management within a single cabinet.
At the core of the platform is a solar and battery system designed to support continuous operation in locations without fixed infrastructure. EOS specifies up to 3 days of autonomy, with battery systems rated for around 4000 charge cycles.
Inside the cabinet, NexSolar integrates all key components required to operate and connect an IP surveillance system. This includes an MPPT controller for solar charging efficiency, a 4G router with external puck antenna for remote connectivity, and a 4-port PoE+ switch to support camera deployment.
Video management is handled locally via a Raspberry Pi 4 running Wisenet WAVE VMS, paired with 1TB of solid-state storage. This enables local recording and system operation without reliance on continuous backhaul connectivity, while still supporting remote access via cellular network.
The architecture allows cameras to stream, record and transmit events directly from site, with remote access available over 4G. This supports applications where sites are temporary, distributed or geographically isolated.
The system is designed for use across construction sites, regional infrastructure, mining environments and large-scale developments where power and communications are not readily available.
According to EOS, NexSolar is configured to support Hanwha Vision cameras, with system setup handled prior to deployment to simplify installation and commissioning in the field.
