Proact Completes Canberra Intercom And Access Control Installation For A Commercial Application.
Proact Completes Canberra Intercom And Access Control Installation – Canberra-based integrator Proact Security has completed a video intercom and access control installation at a commercial building, delivering a multi-tenant entry solution integrated into the façade.
The installation incorporates Hikvision’s multi-tenant door station, surface-mounted and aligned within the building’s external wall finish. The unit combines video intercom, directory and access functionality in a single device, supporting multiple occupants through a shared entry point.
According to managing director Joshua Crockett, attention to detail was a key part of the project.
“Our team took care of everything from start to finish, fitting a Hikvision multi-tenant door station neatly into the façade,” Crockett said.
“It’s the kind of job where the details matter – you need to get the placement right, keep the finish clean, and make sure everything works seamlessly for the building’s occupants.”
From a technical perspective, the intercom is part of Hikvision’s modular multi-tenant IP intercom range, incorporating a wide-angle camera, integrated microphone and speaker, and a multi-button or directory interface for tenant selection.
The system supports SIP-based communication, remote answering via indoor monitors or mobile apps, and integration with access control platforms. Video resolution is 2MP class, with IR illumination for low-light operation, along with echo cancellation and noise suppression to improve audio clarity at the door.
Multi-tenant configurations allow each occupant to receive calls independently, with options for remote unlock via indoor stations or smart devices. The systems can also be integrated with card or PIN-based access control, depending on configuration.
The installation forms part of a broader integrated security deployment, with Proact delivering end-to-end design, installation and commissioning.
