Gallagher Team Steps Out in Shorts

0

GALLAGHER’S New Zealand-based team wore 'Shorts for Hospice' to raise donations for the Gallagher Family Hospice, which helps people in the community with a terminal illness. This year the Gallagher (Waikato) Chiefs Super Rugby team joined the crew in support of the cause.

On Shorts for Hospice day, businesses, schools, and individuals are encouraged to throw away their inhibitions and wear their most outrageous shorts for one day for Hospice. The event challenges people to have fun, to celebrate life, make the most of every day, and raise money for an excellent cause – Hospice Waikato which operates out of its hub, the Gallagher Family Hospice.

Hospice Waikato has 80 paid staff, 600 volunteers and every year provides palliative care services for 900 patients. Hospice services are provided for patients with any advanced, progressive and life limiting disease that requires the services of a specialist palliative care team to assist in management of patient care and to support carers. As a charity, all palliative services are provided free of charge through donations of more than $NZD2 million each year. Hospice Waikato’s services are available to all, regardless of ethnicity, age, culture or gender.

Very nicely done, Gallagher. ♦
