Ge Releases 80 Alarm Panel In U.S.

Easy to install and simple to use, Concord’s modular design and advanced software provide outstanding system flexibility to meet the needs of virtually any residential or commercial security application. “Concord 4 is a feature-rich control panel offered at a great new price point, an average selling price per panel under $80,” said Jim Paulson, GE Security General Manager for Intrusion Solutions. “Concord 4 is the result of two years of engineering development improving and updating the product with features such as an on-board 96-zone, wireless receiver and 2-way voice with VOX (Voice Over Anything) receivers standard.” With Concord 4, users can tap the power of six partitions and eight built-in hardwire zones, with a total of 96 zones that can be configured as hardwired, wireless, or a combination. The panel comes standard with eight hardwired zone inputs, including a 2-wire smoke detector loop that can handle up to 20 detectors. A built-in RF receiver with 96-zone capacity provides instant compatibility with all GE Security wireless sensors. Two programmable outputs may be set up to activate external devices during an alarm or other system event. Adding a Phone Interface/Voice Module for on- and off-site system control using touch phones expands the system even further. A speaker output provides on-site voice status and alarm messages. Concord 4 also integrates with GE’s Smart ConnectionCenter, a structured wiring and connectivity solution that manages and distributes broadband, internet, telephone, cable TV, satellite TV and Ethernet. As a result, the user can begin to use elements of the Concord 4 as a home activity and control system versus simply an alarm and security system. For instance, Concord 4 control panels can be enhanced with SuperBus 2000 peripherals, including power supply modules, output modules, and zone expansion modules. Adding a SuperBus 2000 Energy Saver Module gives users control over heating and air conditioning. The Power Line Carrier Power Transformer adds X10 light control. The Wireless Gateway Module lets users remotely control and monitor the status of the system from the Alarm.com website. Four SuperBus 2000 RF receivers or SuperBus 2000 RF transceivers expand RF coverage to all 96 zones. Importantly, Concord 4 control panels can also be operated via the Internet using Alarm.com’s complete wireless control and reporting capabilities. Through www.alarm.com, users can add/delete user codes, control many features of the Concord 4 control panels, and have alarm and activity notifications sent via email, telephone, or pager to themselves, wherever they might be.
