IPS Intelligent Video Analytics, specialist for video analytics software, and Hikvision Digital Technology, manufacturer of video surveillance solutions, announced the start of a future technology partnership. These steps represent only the initial phase of this partnership; further and more far-reaching system integrations are to follow.

The promising new partnership between the two manufacturers provides a variety of opportunities for technology collaboration. Via IPS AnalyticsManager, for instance, a total of 8 server and 5 camera-based analytics modules could soon be integrated into Hikvision's video management system, thus intelligently enhancing host system functionality by providing metadata for forensic searches and displaying image overlays after critical events.

Users of IPS VideoManager are likewise going to benefit from this partnership, as market leader Hikvision's products will soon be capable of being integrated into IPS VideoManager. Moreover, further integration strategies, such as providing IPS analytics on the Hikvision camera platform, are potentially conceivable as well.

For Peter Treutler, IPS Director, this partnership therefore marks an important strategic step for all parties involved.

"With Hikvision we have found a very strong technology and integration partner,” Treutler said. “Together we will enable integration technicians and end customers to benefit from the broad Hikvision portfolio within IPS VideoManager. Likewise, our video analytics can add a new level of intelligence to existing or new Hikvision solutions."

Peter Guan, General Manager for the DACH market at Hikvision, is also looking forward to joint projects.

"IPS Intelligent Video Analytics is a well-known brand that offers sophisticated solutions for video analytics and management, and thus constitutes the perfect partner for Hikvision,” said Guan. “With IPS software running on our HD video surveillance hardware, we are able to offer a broad portfolio of IPS's video analytics solutions to our customers and end users in the DACH and European market.

“At the same time, IPS VideoManager enables centralised management of various Hikvision cameras as well as third-party systems, which will open up additional opportunities for involvement in a variety of different applications in the market where Hikvision cameras could be installed in order to meet stringent surveillance requirements and ensure the safety of the sites and people. We are looking forward to extending these integration solutions even further in the future, thus being able to offer our mutual customers an even wider range of benefits." ♦
