Australia’s Department of Defence – DSRG is seeking integrated security, safety and fire safety works at HMAS Albatross near Nowra in NSW.

The security works include installation of building occupant alert and public address system suitable for ‘Serious Security Incident within Live In Accommodation (LIA)’ blocks at HMAS Albatross. These works will include connection to the existing base audible alert system and public address system.

Public address works will be delivered via the existing defence engineering service network on base and existing fire information panels within accommodation buildings.

HMAS Albatross is Australia’s largest operational naval establishment and the Navy’s only air station. The primary task of HMAS Albatross is to support the RAN’s 5 dedicated squadrons, which provide air support to the fleet. HMAS Albatross is also home to the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

The 5 squadrons and the aircraft they operate include 723 Squadron with EC-135T2+ helicopters, 725 Squadron with MH-60R Seahawk helicopters, 808 Squadron with MRH-90 Taipan helicopters, 816 Squadron with MH-60R Seahawk helicopters, and 822X Squadron with unmanned aerial systems.

In recent years HMAS Albatross has been the site of a $A200 million redevelopment which has included new aircraft hangars, helicopter corrosion control facility, underwater escape trainer, gym, air traffic control tower, working accommodation, administration facilities, flight-line aircraft shelters and explosive ordnance buildings.

This tender closes on June 22 – you can find out more here.
