Honeywell earned $US1.7 billion for the 12 months that ended on Jan. 31 compared to $US1.45 billion in 2004 on sales of $US27.7 billion. The Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) segment that includes Honeywell’s fire and security alarm manufacturing businesses was the second-most profitable business for Honeywell last year, trailing only Aerospace. ACS moved beyond the $US1 billion barrier for the first time with net earnings of $US1.1 billion on sales of $US9.4 billion.
