Hyde Park CCTV Upgrade – City of Sydney has invited expressions of interest to undertake the construction of the Hyde Park CCTV, lighting and electrical, upgrade along with associated works, to improve Hyde Park’s night time safety.
Hyde Park is Australia’s oldest designated public park; it is a culturally significant heritage landscape and is central to many of the city’s cultural events – Ausgrid transferred the lighting, electrical infrastructure and control system assets to the City of Sydney in 2015.
The objective of this project is to replace failing lighting and power infrastructure within the park, addressing park safety and power needs for events. The project works comprise an extensive upgrade of all the lighting and power.
Hyde Park CCTV Upgrade Goes To Tender
This includes necessary landscape make good works of paths, planting and turf impacted by construction. The project scope includes the installation of 8 new CCTV cameras to boost existing CCTV camera coverage within the park.
The principal contractor will be responsible for the construction of the Hyde Park CCTV, lighting and electrical upgrade, and associated works project described in the drawings included in this request for Expression of Interest (EOI). The work is expected to be completed by early 2026.
Hyde Park, Sydney, is an urban park, of 40-acres, located in the central business district of Sydney, in the City of Sydney local government area. It is the oldest public parkland in Australia.
