Green Light Contractors is seeking supply and installation of video surveillance equipment for its huge New England solar farm, currently being developed near Uralla in NSW’s New England region.
UPC Renewables Australia is currently constructing Stage 1 of the 720MW solar farm across 2 separate solar fields of around 2000 hectares. Rows of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels are being installed on a single axis tracking system that follows the path of the sun, while allowing adequate space for sheep to continue grazing on the land between and underneath the panels.
Once completed, the solar farm will produce around 1,800,000 MW hours of electricity each year – enough to power more than 250,000 typical NSW homes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.5 million tonnes of C02 each year – equivalent to taking 330,000 cars off NSW roads annually.
