Milesight X5 4G Solar Traffic Camera Deliver LPR From Remote Locations.

Milesight X5 4G Solar Traffic Camera – Milesight X5 is a 4G solar-powered traffic sensing camera designed to provide wireless license plate recognition capabilities for remote and isolated locations.

Equipped with a high-resolution 1/2.8-inch progressive scan CMOS image sensor, the camera captures full HD images at 1920 x 1080 pixels. Its starlight sensor and integrated infrared illumination enable clear image capture up to 10 metres at night.

The camera combines active sensing mechanisms, including radar (frequency range: 5.725–5.875GHz, transmission power at -4dBm) and PIR sensors, effectively detecting motion.

It also incorporates environmental sensors that measure temperature (-20C to 60C, ±0.3C accuracy from 0C to 60C) and sound (30dBA to 120dBA, ±3dB accuracy), providing comprehensive situational awareness.

Capture modes can be customized to trigger from radar, PIR, sound, temperature, interval, and alarm inputs, with a capture rate of 95 percent within optimal distances of up to 10 metres.

The X5 camera supports wireless data transmission via 4G LTE cellular networks with regional frequency compatibility for North America, Europe, and Australia. It includes a high-accuracy GPS module, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz) for easy local configuration, and Bluetooth 5.3 for device wake-up. The camera can seamlessly integrate data with third-party ANPR platforms through MQTT(s) and HTTP protocols.

The X5 is powered primarily through a solar panel input (?35W, OCV < 22V), supplemented by a high-capacity rechargeable lithium-ion battery (7.2V, 6500mAh) designed for cold-weather performance. It also supports power via a Type-C USB connector (5V/1A).

Battery life provides up to 3.5 days of triggering uploads or up to 10 days of timing uploads, depending on usage. The battery maintains 70 percent capacity after 500 charge cycles.

Milesight X5 features IP66-rated weather protection and includes a 10mm movable rain cover. Anti-theft screws further enhance security. For local storage, it accommodates microSD/SDHC/SDXC cards up to 256GB. The camera body measures 175 x 111 x 63.2mm without the rain cover, crafted from charcoal grey flame-retardant ABS and PC materials.

The camera ships with installation brackets for wall and pole mounting. Configuration and management can be executed remotely or locally through the mobile-compatible web GUI or via Milesight’s AIoT Sensing Platform.

Typical applications for the X5 sensing camera include livestock management, greenhouse monitoring, security surveillance remote applications to detect dumping or intrusion, and general traffic monitoring.
