Minarah College Seeks Boom Gate And Intercom – Minarah College has released a tender calling for the supply and installation of 2 electronic boom gates with integrated intercom systems at the front entrance of the campus to provide reliable traffic control and safety at the college entrance.
The scope of works includes design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, training, and ongoing maintenance of the access control solution. The project requires electrically operated boom gates equipped with torque drive motors and built for continuous duty cycle.
Each gate must function via 240V single-phase power and be capable of raising automatically in the event of a power failure. Manual operation must be possible without requiring a crank handle or cabinet access. The barrier system must include smooth, quiet motor function and be based on proven, upgradeable technology.
The barrier housing is to be constructed from powder-coated sheet metal in red and white, with boom arms made from white powder-coated aluminium and fitted with red reflective tape. Modular plug-in units will handle gate logic and detection functions. Control of the boom gates can be managed through various means, including access control, voice intercom, wireless remotes, or integrated traffic management systems.
Installers are required to provide all necessary power and data cabling, including 240V AC 15A circuits from the nearest switchboard, using appropriately coloured conduit as per national standards. All interconnection between control points must be included.
Training is to be provided for relevant college staff, and documentation in the form of technical and maintenance manuals must be supplied for each system.
Responding companies must be able to demonstrate the deployment of similar systems on existing sites and highlight safety system performance.
