New Uniview OwlView Series Low Light Surveillance Specialist.

New Uniview OwlView Series – Uniview’s OwlView camera series, distributed in Australia by BGW Technologies, is purpose-built for deployment in low-light environments where traditional surveillance solutions fail to deliver.

Using advanced low-light imaging sensors and large-aperture lenses, the OwlView range delivers full-colour video with ambient light levels as low as 0.0005 lux. The technology is aimed at end users who require reliable image quality without relying on IR illumination or the additional infrastructure cost of external lighting.

One of the most exciting elements of launching Uniview as a supplier, was knowing we would be able to offer the Uniview OwlView series to our customers,” said Mark Shannon, national product manager at BGW Technologies.

When visibility drops, so does the performance of many surveillance cameras, but the OwlView cameras from Uniview were built specifically for low-light environments. They are renowned for delivering high-quality video, even in near-total darkness, without the need for external lighting or powerful IR.”

The OwlView series is powered by Wise-ISP 5th-Generation Nightview Tech and offers clarity when it matters most. Not every site is brightly lit, and not every customer wants to install extra lighting. The beauty of the OwlView series is that it gives you the visibility you need, without having to light up the whole street.

Shannon says that unlike conventional IR-based systems that can wash out nearby objects and miss background detail, OwlView maintains natural image balance throughout the scene. This is particularly important in unlit or poorly lit environments like alleyways, rural areas, car parks, and warehouses, where lighting installation may be impractical or cost-prohibitive.

OwlView cameras are available in turret, dome and bullet form factors, with models offering resolutions up to 4K, support for wide dynamic range (WDR), and image enhancement features that improve clarity in noisy or low-contrast scenes. All models are IP67 rated for outdoor use, support PoE for simplified cabling, and comply with ONVIF protocols for third-party integration.

OwlView is ideal for clients who need to monitor dark spaces without drawing attention,” Shannon says. “Anywhere you are unable to get reasonable light for an image, the OwlView range sets itself apart. Uniview has also focused on ease of use – OwlView integrates with the UNV app and remote management tools, making it easy for users to access footage and receive alerts wherever they are.

OwlView gives installers a tool they’ve been asking for, a reliable, low-light camera that doesn’t require extra infrastructure,” says Shannon. “It’s a smart choice for jobs where lighting is limited, and quality still matters.
