New Dahua 4MP WizColor Bullet Camera – Dahua Technology has introduced the latest addition to its WizSense series, the 4MP WizColor Bullet Camera, a fixed-focal AI-driven surveillance solution designed for high-accuracy detection in real-world environments.
Featuring Dahua’s advanced AI chip and deep learning algorithms, the camera – there are several models including the IPC-HFW2449M-S-B-PRO – delivers human and vehicle identification while leveraging full-colour imaging and intelligent event detection to enhance perimeter security.
Equipped with Dahua’s WizColor technology, the camera captures full-colour images in low-light conditions by combining an AI-ISP processor, a large pixel sensor, and a wide-aperture lens.
Unlike traditional night-vision cameras, which rely on infrared illumination, the WizColor bullet camera uses existing ambient light sources such as streetlights and moonlight, providing clearer long-distance surveillance without the need for additional lighting. Dahua’s AI-ISP technology further refines image quality.
The combination of these technologies enables security operators to monitor scenes in full colour while minimising motion blur and noise, making the camera particularly well-suited for urban and critical infrastructure applications.
The camera is built around Dahua’s WizSense AI framework, which enhances perimeter protection through deep learning algorithms. With support for intelligent functions such as tripwire, intrusion detection, fast-moving object recognition, and loitering alerts, the system can accurately classify human and vehicle activity, significantly reducing false alarms caused by environmental factors.
Dahua’s SMD Plus further improves alert accuracy by filtering out irrelevant movement, ensuring security teams receive only meaningful notifications.
Designed for efficient operation, the WizColor bullet camera utilises Smart H.265+ and H.264+ encoding, reducing storage and bandwidth requirements while maintaining video quality. This compression technology allows operators to store high-resolution footage for extended periods without excessive infrastructure demands.
On the cybersecurity front, Dahua has incorporated advanced data protection measures, including encrypted authentication and secure transmission protocols, safeguarding networks from unauthorised access and potential cyber threats.
With an IP67-rated enclosure, the WizColor Bullet Camera is fully weatherproof, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 60C. The unit also supports a wide voltage range, ensuring stable operation in areas with fluctuating power supply.
The integrated warm-light LED illuminator provides a maximum lighting distance of 50 metres, ensuring clear visibility even in near-total darkness. Additional features such as WDR, 3D noise reduction (3D NR), and highlight compensation (HLC) further enhance performance across diverse lighting conditions.
