New Suprema BioEntry W3 Reader With FBI-Grade Facial Recognition.
New Suprema BioEntry W3 reader – Suprema has introduced the BioEntry W3, a facial recognition access control reader designed for secure, efficient authentication across a range of environments.
The Suprema BioEntry W3 reader has an advanced neural processing unit (NPU), enabling facial matching in a claimed 0.2 seconds. With a storage capacity for 30,000 facial templates and 100,000 card credentials, it’s suitable for high-traffic sites where rapid authentication is critical. The unit can also manage up to a million text records and 10,000 image records, ensuring data scalability.
BioEntry W3 features an IP67-rated enclosure for dust and water resistance, the latter to 1-metre for 30 minutes – along with IK08 impact protection, allowing deployment in environments where weather and vandal resistance is required. The reader’s discrete mullion design means easy installation into door frames and other access points.

Security and privacy remain core considerations. The device complies with ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701, supporting strict data protection measures. The template on mobile (ToM) functionality eliminates the need for storing facial templates on devices or external systems, enhancing privacy while maintaining security.
With support for both wired and wireless connectivity, BioEntry W3 operates on the 868 MHz frequency and is compatible with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 4G LTE. Flexible authentication options include facial recognition, mobile credentials using NFC and BLE, and RFID card support for MIFARE, DESFire, iCLASS, and FeliCa.
New Suprema BioEntry W3 Reader is distributed locally by NAS Australia – you can learn more here or read more SEN news here.
