NIDAC Gravity Extends Prescient DN4 Into Cloud Without Losing Its Edge.
NIDAC Gravity Extends Prescient DN4 Into Cloud – NIDAC’s new Gravity platform introduces secure cloud-based access to Prescient DN4 systems, giving installers remote control of customer sites without compromising reliability or security.
Gravity is currently in beta and represents a natural evolution for Prescient DN4, which remains the embedded heart of the system, handling access decisions locally even when internet connectivity is lost.
According to NIDAC, Gravity doesn’t replace DN4 functionality but extends it. Data is protected in transit and at rest using enterprise-grade encryption, and the secure tunnel is provided by Cloudflare. By isolating the Gravity platform’s security framework from DN4’s authorisation engine, NIDAC maintains the integrity of its zero-trust architecture while offering a modern user experience accessible from anywhere.
Once a Prescient site is associated with an installer account, it becomes accessible through the Gravity cloud interface. This allows installers to commission, configure, and manage customer sites remotely via a streamlined dashboard that’s gaining recognition for its clean UI and intuitive design. Importantly, Gravity mirrors the DN4 user interface and supports full control of access and alarm functions through a secure web portal.
In the event of internet failure, system performance continues unaffected. Local responders retain control through the onsite DN4 user interface, and remote functions resume once connectivity is restored. This separation of operational control from the cloud interface is a key element of the system’s resilience and a central design principle of Prescient DN4.
Gravity also improves usability by enabling end users to pre-enrol credentials remotely. The platform supports email alerts via existing SMTP configuration, and a mobile app is under development. A longer-term plan includes global event reporting and push notifications through the Gravity interface.
Further integration is planned with third-party systems already supported by DN4. This includes video platforms like Digital Watchdog, Hanwha Wisenet WAVE, and NX Witness, with remote access to CCTV events and live streams. Alarm integration will also be handled through DN4 and made available through Gravity when implemented.
Gravity also enhances existing DN4 tools such as system diagnostics, event logs, and audit trails, and offers a consolidated view of all client sites from a single login. The interface dynamically adapts based on user credentials, ensuring security policies remain enforced across all connected sites.
