“ObjectVideo is delighted to be named an innovator and market leader by such a well-respected business publication as the Wall Street Journal, especially in an industry as important and rapidly growing as intelligent video,” said Brian Eckert, vice president of sales and marketing for ObjectVideo, in a statement. The annual awards recognize technological breakthroughs by individuals, companies and organizations in areas including medicine, software, hardware and the Internet. ObjectVideo was picked by the Journal’s editors as one of 104 semifinalists from the 750 applications received, and was named the winner by an independent panel of judges that consisted of companies and organizations such as Sun Microsystems Labs, Oxbridge Capital Ltd and Xerox Corp. The award comes on the heels of ObjectVideo’s 2005 Excellence in Technology Award, which was given to them by IMS Research and Frost & Sullivan for its development of sophisticated and accurate intelligent video solutions.
