Optex Insight Cube PIR Camera – Optex has released its new InSight Cube Indoor PIR camera, an all-in-one PoE compact PIR-based, monitoring-ready audio and video solution for indoor applications.
InSight Cube has built-in passive infrared detection sensors, 2-way audio talk-down function via app, and optimized video capabilities, and is designed to effectively eliminate false alarms.
The InSight Cube is ONVIF-compliant and can directly connect to the OPTEX Visual Verification Bridge, as well as any DVR, NVR or VMS. InSight Cube is integrated and certified by the OPTEX Bridge & CHeKT Visual Verification portal, allowing it to easily integrate into new or existing Bridge systems.
There’s optimized multi-profile streaming – up to 3 streams can be set at 1080p environments with different setting parameters, such as resolution, video rate, and frame rate, while the plug-in program supports any web browser.

Features include progressive scan image sensor, 2.8mm F1.6mm lens with 10 metre IR and an angle of view of 120 degrees. Maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080, there’s 3D digital noise reduction, wide dynamic range, 30ips frame rate, rotate mode, saturation, brightness, contrast, sharpness, AGC and region of interest.
There’s audio input and audio output, alarm out (NO/NC), VCA anti-tamper, tamper alarm (switch), 1 RJ45 10M/100M Ethernet port, built-in microphone and a built-in speaker.
The Cube has an operating temperature range of -20 to 50C, dimensions of 87.6mm x 114mm x 72.1mm, 297g, power requirements of 12V DC ±10%, PoE (802.3af) with draw of 6.4 and 6.8W respectively.
Alerts can be generated on motion detection, network disconnect, IP address conflict, storage exception, temperature critical, PIR detection and audio detection.
There’s also 1-key reset, flash-prevention, dual stream, password protection, privacy mask and IP address filtering. There’s built-in MicroSD, SDHC, SDXC card slot of up to 128GB, support for Wi-Fi, support for WEP, WPF/WPA2, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and WPS, and a wireless range of 25 metres.
